I mentioned the Western Australian poet
John Kinsella in a blog from Perth. The Guardian yesterday published a poem of his,
The Ambassadors. This is a wonderfully complex take on an Australian in London, standing before the famous painting by Holbein of the same name in the
National Gallery, London imagining himself as an Australian ambassador.
The poem is dedicated to the late Australian-born poet Peter Porter. Obit
