Macdara Woods in Navan Library

Navan Library celebrates Irish poet, Macdara Woods at 70.
Venue: Navan Library, Railway Street, Navan, Co Meath
Thursday: 12 April. Time: 7.30pm
All welcome.

Macdara judged the first poetry competition in which I was longlisted or shortlisted, the Scríobh Poetry Competition in Sligo in 2006. My poem, Consumption, was included in the anthology of shortlisted poems for 2004-2006. Unfortunately that was the last year of that competition.

As part of the prize we had a workshop with Macdara which I found very useful. I won't be able to attend in Navan on Thursday evening, Boyne Writers Group have organised a workshop for the same evening with the talented Barbara Smith, a fellow Doghouse poet.
